Luna Lovegood

I’ve recently been diagnosed with Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures and wanted to share my story. So I started this blog to document my daily life and what it is like to PNES. Also to let others with PNES know they are not alone. But that’s not all of me! I am made up of other parts, too!

I’m a deaf woman with several pre-existing conditions who stands for equality in all areas of life for EVERYONE regardless of race, creed, sexual orientation, gender, religion, etc. I guess that was the long-winded way of saying I’m a liberal. That doesn’t mean I vote that way though, I like to educate myself on everything and make an informed decision.

I like coffee and wine. I also like to drink water and occasionally some Disaronno or a White Russian. I read a hell of a lot of books, both fiction and nonfiction. I’m not opposed to graphic novels either, because it’s still reading and some of them are really good reads. I like watching TV and renting movies. I go out to movies too, if the theater has the movie I want to see closed captioned.

I love popcorn. Okay? Popcorn is my downfall. And my newest favorite food is Pho. Holy god, is that stuff crack. It’s delicious. I have a very limited list of foods I can eat because I have Celiac Disease, which means I cannot have a single ounce of gluten in me. Otherwise, I curl up into a ball of fire and pain and live in the bathroom for days on end. Trust me, it’s not pretty when I get glutened.

This led to a whole new way of looking at food and I eat very clean now. I make everything I possibly can in my little kitchen. It just tastes so much better that way. I don’t eat meat except on special occasions (like Thanksgiving or Christmas), and I don’t drink as well, except on special occasions. I’m very picky about what I put in my body, but I am very open to what’s out there to eat. I will try everything once.
